Liz Dunn
A few weeks back I got a call from a good friend of mine, Liz Dunn. Liz is quite the pageant queen. Her most current title is Miss Watermelon Festival 2010 and she will be competing in the Miss Louisiana Pageant later this year. So when Liz called me for her official head shots I was more than happy to help out.

Like Liz says its hard not to wear green when you’re the Watermelon Queen.
Once we were sure we had a great head shot Liz broke out this great royal blue dress from French Connection and we got a few more shots just for the fun of it.

This is one of her personal favorites. I have to say I really like it as well.

Photo of The Week
Sunday I spent the majority of my day organizing a huge backlog of photos. At some point during this immense process I realized I have A LOT of good photos that never really get seen by anyone, because of this I decided to post one photo a week from my archive. These selections will be unused outtakes from portrait sessions, weddings, commercial gigs and even some personal snapshots.
So lets get started shall we.
Ever wonder what a professional photographers personal family snapshots look like. Well they look like this.

This little lady is Lydian, one of my twins girls. If I remember correctly she had just finished eating a biter biscuit and decided she was in a very good mood and wanted to to crawl after her daddy and try to get his camera. It was a very fun game for a 8 month old.
Weekend Update
So this weekend was interesting to say the least.
Friday morning started off great. I had a breakfast meeting with a representative from the Baton Rouge Area Chamber; a business group I am thinking of joining. Then things got interesting. I opened my wallet to pay for breakfast, and discovered I had let my drivers license expire. In my defense I thought I had another year before it lapsed. So needless to say that drastically changed my plans for Friday.
I quickly rushed to the nearest DMV only to discover I was unable to renew my license because of an insurance flag. Apparently my insurance company failed to send the proper reports to the DMV when my previous vehicle was totaled – 2 YEARS AGO!!. So now not only do I have the immense pleasure of dealing with the DMV, but I also get the joy of dealing with my insurance company.
To make a long and very boring story of my day short and a little less mind numbing I will summarize. What was originally suppose to be a productive day of networking with individuals and business in the wedding industry turned into waiting in impossibly long lines and dealing with my insurance and license issues. Oh and the real kicker is I’m still driving on an expired license because it takes at least 3 business days to process the insurance forms and lift the flag.
Saturday I spent the majority of the day helping friends and family deal with frozen water pipes because of the extremely cold temperatures. Heat guns, hack saws, PVC pipe and glue, and half a bottle of Johnnie Walker Black between me and a friend. Saturday is what I refer to as a man day.
Sunday I stayed indoors and caught up on sorting personal photos, but that is another post all together.
Photography Quote – Elliott Erwitt

“To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place… I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.”
-Elliott Erwitt
